Gift

I'm a born again Christian, and have been since I was 10 years old. No one told me I needed this, although I was raised in a Christian home and clearly knew what salvation was. Nonetheless, I can't remember a time when anyone told me that I needed to be saved. But as a 10 year old, I knew God and Heaven were real. I knew I was incomplete, and I was looking for peace. I couldn't have put that into words then, but now I can. I knew that God had sent His Son to earth as a sacrifice for our sins. I knew that to reject that kind of love was horrible.
So one night, after weeks of turmoil in my little heart, I crept into my mom's room with my older sister and asked her to help me pray. I believed, had faith, that God would help me find that peace and assurance of eternal salvation. I asked Christ into my heart, and felt a peace that passes understanding roll over my heart. And I know that although I'm an imperfect, fallible human being with so many flaws, I'm also a child of God. One day, my faith will be made sight and I'll see Christ in Heaven. I look forward to this day.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 3:10 - As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 5:8 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 10:9-10 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10:13 - For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

I have no idea whether or not you're saved. I hope you are. And if you aren't, I hope you'll think about what you just read and change that. Salvation is too great a gift to pass up. It's too important.
