Happy First Birthday, Daffodil
It was Daphne’s first birthday on the 14th. Our aggressive, loud, loves to be kissed, almost always crying, big brown eyed girl.
From the day she was born and other early days.
She LOVES her family. Her eyes light up when she sees Luna, and she wants to play with her big sister non stop. She crawls so fast to the front door when she hears Aaron’s car come home from work. She knows two words: NO and DADA. She wants Mama for any comforting. She loves music and loves to dance (She knows how to twerk and it’s hilarious. We did not teach her that.). She wants bottles only, but did eat two veggies straws on her birthday! She also likes to eat trash when she can find it. She doesn’t care to play with toys very much, but has a real obsession with pulling all the kitchen towels and bibs out of their basket. And then promptly crawling away as soon as she is done making her mess. Off to make the next mess; the only sensible thing to do when you are a baby. She has 8 teeth with a big gap between the front two and it is SO ADORABLE. She’s such a solid armful, fits so perfectly. So stinky and sweaty and slobbery and perfect. She has the raspiest voice and calls out “Dada dada dada” non stop.
Her two personalities. Not really much in between:
To celebrate her birthday, we went on a five mile bike ride along the river and had a small cake afterward. It was perfect. She sat her chubby self in the little bike trailer with Luna, drank bottles, and yelled in irritation over every bump in the bike path. Luna sang Happy Birthday to her when she cried which actually made her stop crying every time.
How cute is this little grocery store cake?!! We thought she wouldn’t eat the cake since she doesn’t want to eat any food, but she seemed to love the frosting and was pretty excited after all.
Luna wore the same crown for her first birthday too *cries on the inside*. Our little sunshine storm cloud.
